An authentic Montessori school for our changing world

Serving children ages 5 to 12.

Indigo Montessori provides families in Baltimore, Maryland with an accessible, high-quality elementary Montessori learning environment that is community-embedded and empowering to all children and their families.

Indigo Montessori is a member of the Wildflower Network of schools. Wildflower is an ecosystem of decentralized Montessori micro-schools that support children, teachers, and parents. Wildflower aspires to give all children and families the opportunity to choose high-quality, beautiful learning environments as they follow life’s unfolding journey.

The child who has felt a strong love for his surroundings and for all living creatures, who has discovered joy and enthusiasm in work, gives us reason to hope that humanity can develop in a new direction.

- Dr. Maria Montessori

An Authentic Montessori School

The Montessori Method emerges from the belief that children are naturally good, peaceful and curious and that in the context of a supportive environment, all children engage instinctively in the work of self-construction. With appropriate freedoms and the right support, children follow their interests to create rich learning experiences, form peaceful communities, and support and learn from one another. We are dedicated to the preparation of environments and ourselves to support the development of children.

An Intentionally Small Community

As an intentionally small, community-embedded learning environment, our school allows us to serve every child and family in deep and meaningful partnership with their teacher leaders.

Outdoor Education

A Home in Nature

Whether exploring at Leakin Park, our outdoor learning environment, or observing the changing seasons of Roosevelt Park, our daily outdoor play space, or in collaborating with our neighborhood community garden, our school allows students to find a home in nature.
